You cannot fully understand the Blair/Chuck situation and appreciate it until you’ve been in it and felt that way for someone. Their abuse of each other as awful as it is is one of the things that make them similar. When you’ve been in a situation where, try as you might you cannot move past this person who treated you like shit and that you treated like shit (but not all the time obviously, or neither of you would have any reason to care about each other) but you just can’t because you two love each other and that’s why you hurt each other, then you’ll understand.
But until then keep living in your little fantasy world were the good guy gets the girl and changes her into a better person, Dair fans. Just remember that never happens in real life. xoxo

the gossip girl writers have proven to me on more than one occasion that they do not deserve the respect of their (intelligent) fans or their views. since whenever they decided to cater to chuck bass fans the quality of their show has gone downhill. when they decided to turn the antagonistic bad guy who attempted to rape not one but two of the central characters in the pilot into some kind of a romantic hero they began to sacrifice the integrity of their writing to please a certain group of people. and I get why they did it in the beginning I suppose, chuck and blair had the kind of sexual chemistry that nate and blair didn’t, so people wanted to see more of that, I understand. but they shouldn’t have tried to make chuck into some dr. jekyl and mr. hyde, one side of him being horrible and depraved and then another side which is sweet and loving towards blair. they attempted to turn him into something he isn’t. that’s where things got messy, they still to this day try to write him as both a bad person and a romantic lead and it just doesn’t work.
